How many children will there be in a group lesson?
We limit each lesson to 5 children, so long as their ability level is similar.
My child is 4 years old, can they participate?
Yes, we welcome children 3-12 years old. However, 3-4 years olds are able to enroll on the half day program only or join our private ski lesson in the afternoon.
Can I request that my children be in the same lesson?
So long as children are of a similar age and/or ability, this should not be a problem. Please let us know at time of booking if you have any requests, and we will try our best to accommodate.
What do I need to pack for camp?
Please refer to our packing list for an idea of what your child will need for winter camp.
Is lunch provided?
Yes, a nutritious lunch is provided daily for half day, full day and multi-day participants.
How do I determine my child's skiing or snowboarding ability for their lesson?
We have put together level descriptions on our Ability Chart for both skiing and snowboarding. Please have a look at the charts to assess your child's ability. If you are still unsure, do not hesitate to speak to our team directly. We would be more than happy to assist you.
Will you take photo of the children?
Yes, photo will be taken during the day and sometimes during ski lessons, please note that this is offered as an additional free service. Guests can access the photo when we send out a link via Email. Usually this is sent out about a week after the participants time at camp has concluded.
Are rental items and lift passes included in camp fees?
If participants are signed up for our 3 day consecutive program we include rental equipment and lift passes. We will also arrange for children to be fitted for their equipment in store prior to starting their lessons with us. Other programs are not inclusive of these additional items.
What is your pick up and drop off procedure?
Pick up procedure Our pick up service takes place between 8:30 AM - 9:15 AM at the following times and locations: - 8:30 AM - 8:45 AM - Hanazono & Annupuri - 8:45 AM - 9:00 AM - Niseko Village & Hirafu - 9:00 AM - 9:15 AM - Orchards & Country resort
We kindly ask you to be prepared ahead of time. Slight delays may occur due to traffic or weather conditions. If guests are staying in a hotel, please be visible in the lobby and keep your eyes peeled for our EdVenture van.
Drop off procedure Children registered in our half day program are dropped off at their accommodation after lunch, between 1 PM - 1:30 PM. Participants registered in our full day program will be dropped off between 4:00 PM - 4:30 PM. Please ensure that a registered parent or guardian is present at the time of drop off. For safety reasons, please advise the EdVenture team if there are any changes to the registered parent for drop off.
Who is eligible for your pick up/drop off service?
We offer our complimentary pick up/drop off service to all participants residing in the Niseko United area. If you are unsure whether your accommodation is eligible, please contact our team directly.
Where are your off-mountain activities held?
Most of our morning activities are held at our camp base, which is on site at The Orchards Niseko. Some days will see children explore nearby snowshoe trails with camp leaders.
Will the off-mountain activities and lessons be conducted in English?
Yes, all our MnK guest services are conducted in English. If you are afraid about your English skill, our bilingual staff can help and most of our activities are very active and visible, so please do not feel intimidated by the English language and join us. Our international staff are happy to interact with Japanese guests.
Where are your ski/snowboard lessons held?
Lessons will predominantly occur at Annupuri Ski Resort, selected for its child-friendly terrain. In the event of unfavorable weather conditions necessitating a change, lessons will be shifted to Grand Hirafu Ski Resort. Please ensure that your child has the correct funds for a lift pass, or consider pre-purchasing one.
Why half-day outdoor activities and half-day ski lessons?
Most of case children are very excited to see and touch the snow and want to play in it. After a satisfying morning with enough time to play, they can concentrate on practising their skiing in the afternoon.
Does your winter camp include an overnight stay experience?
Our winter experience is a day camp only, and there is no overnight camping component. Learn more about our summer camp if you are interested in a family camping trip in Hokkaido.
