Overnight Residential Programs at EdVenture

EdVenture’s Yotei and Rishiri programs offer six-night stays focused on nature, teamwork, and personal growth.

EdVenture Niseko’s overnight residential programs offer older kids and teens a full week of independent, hands-on outdoor learning, in Niseko’s corner of Hokkaido, where birch forests, clear rivers, and open farmland meet the mountains.

There are two programs available:

  • Yotei Program: for children and pre-teens aged 10–12
  • Rishiri Program: for teens aged 13–17

Each camp runs from Sunday afternoon to Saturday morning, providing a six-night, seven-day immersive experience that emphasizes personal growth, self-reliance, and community through nature-based activities and outdoor adventures.

Yotei Program (Ages 10–12)

The Yotei Program centers on teamwork and shared problem-solving. Campers collaborate on challenges such as rope courses, raft building, and trail orienteering. The week also includes plenty of outdoor fun with biking, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and a local favorite: park golf.

Rishiri Program (Ages 13–17)

Campers in the Rishiri Program focus on self-directed skill-building. Activities include compass making, natural water filtration, shelter construction, and advanced orienteering. Additional challenges and explorations are provided through mountain biking, kayaking, and tree trekking.

Evenings

In the evenings, both age groups join together for group-based social activities and fun. These range from trivia and movie nights to bowling and campfires for storytelling and new friendships.

Friday Hike and BBQ Sendoff

Each program ends with a guided hike up one of Niseko’s scenic mountains, such as Mt. Annupuri or Mt. Konbu, followed by a celebratory BBQ dinner to close out the week.
