EdVenture Winter Camps offer a unique camp experience for children during their time in Niseko, Japan. The program is designed to allow children and mentors to make the most of the incredible powder snow, both on and off the mountain, all whilst building confidence, learning new skills and having fun.
About the Role
As an Outdoor Experience Guide, you will lead guests through various winter activities such as snowshoe tours and igloo-building. You'll focus on providing engaging and safe adventures for all participants. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to guiding snowshoe tours, facilitating igloo building, hosting EdVenture evenings, mentoring EdVenture Minis, and other related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead guided snowshoe tours and igloo-building activities.
- Provide safety instructions and ensure the safety of all participants.
- Educate guests about the natural environment and local culture.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain a positive and engaging atmosphere for guests.
Key Qualities
- Experience in leading outdoor activities, especially in winter settings.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing weather conditions and environments.
- Must hold a valid Japanese driver's license or be able to obtain an International Driving Permit.
- First aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills such as Japanese or other languages are a plus.

Salary
- The position is based on qualifications and experience, with a starting rate of ¥1,600 per hour
- Medium season, late-November until the end of March | Short season, late-November until the end of February
- Depending on customer demand and reservations, working hours can range anywhere from 8 to 40 hours per week, including weekends. You will have at least one full day off each week. (6-8 Hours per day, up to 6 days per week)
