Camp Nurse and Program Support

Overview of position:

As a Nurse and Program Support at EdVenture Kids Camp, you will ensure the health and safety of campers and staff and support the overall camp experience. In addition to overseeing medical needs, you will assist with maintaining camp facilities and facilitating camp activities. Your role is essential in maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging environment, helping ensure that all participants have an enjoyable and memorable camp experience.

June 2026 - August 2026

Work hours:

Hours range from 8 to 40 per week, with shifts of 6–8 hours per day. Schedules run up to 6 days per week, with one full day off guaranteed.

Visa eligibility and requirement:

Must have or be eligible to obtain a Japanese Working Holiday Visa or already have the legal right to work in Japan.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Support camper’s medical needs, such as managing their medication schedules.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, providing immediate first aid or emergency care as needed.
  • Maintain camper health records and communicate with guardians regarding any health concerns or medication needs.
  • Keep medical kits and first aid supplies organized and stocked, ensuring availability for all staff and campers.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and safety of the camp facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Assist with general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized camp environment.
  • Support the planning and facilitation of camp activities, ensuring a safe and fun experience for all campers.
  • Be willing to stay on-site overnight to be available for any medical concerns or emergencies that may arise.

Salary and benefits:

Compensation: ¥1,900 per hour

Qualifications and experience:

  • Nursing or medical experience, with first aid and CPR certifications.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with campers, staff, and parents.
  • Valid Japanese driver’s licence or eligibility for an International Driving Permit.
  • Passion for outdoor activities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and reliable.
  • Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills such as Japanese or other languages are a plus.
  • Able to provide an up-to-date criminal record background check from the country of residence.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Experience in a camp or educational setting is preferred.
