About EdVenture
EdVenture is an immersive camp experience in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan. Designed to help families make the most of Hokkaido’s incredible green season. The week-long programs connect children and young people to new friends from around the world, learning new skills, with their family members in innovative ways. The camp takes full advantage of its location nestled between the iconic Mount Yotei and Mount Annupuri in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan.
About the Role
As an EdVenture Transports Specialist and mentor, you embody the roles of role model, friend, mentor, and hero to campers, and parents. In the capacity as a transport specialist, you will need to be legally able to drive a 28-seater microbus, becoming an integral part of the operations team, ensuring the safety and transportation of camp participants, guests, and other resort hosts/operations team. Additionally, you will be called upon to assist the program leaders and mentors with loading, unloading, setting up, and taking down equipment at various venues along with a camp mentor supportive role.
Key Responsibilities/Key Qualities
- Provide campers and guests with friendly, professional, and personalized customer service
- Perform simple maintenance on all vehicles, including fuel checks, bus tyre changes, oil checks, and general vehicle condition
- Safely shuttle guests to and from the town, adhering to all of Japan’s driving and road laws
- Check, update, and organise the daily bus schedule by the camp schedule
- Communicate with your team to ensure a smooth flow of operation
- Provide a safe and comfortable journey for guests, especially in challenging driving conditions
- Possess basic knowledge of our camp program and guest services to share with campers and guests
- Physical work is expected
- Be a team player, working and living in a close environment with your teammate
- Must possess or be able to obtain an International Driving Permit valid in Japan (covering vehicles up to 29 seats and 4.9 tonnes)
- Experience driving large vehicles in challenging conditions
- Previous experience in working with children in an outdoor education or educational-based setting
- Hold a valid Japanese driver's license or be eligible to obtain an International Driving Permit
- First aid training is advantageous

Salary
- ¥7,600 for a half-day and ¥15,200 for a full day
